Murugi Thande is an Emmy-nominated photographer, director, visual storyteller currently based in Washington D.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree from American University, with a major in Film and Media Arts and a minor in French.
She has experience working on tv shows, promos, indie films, and photo projects for companies like National Geographic, NBC and PBS. Her work has been featured in several outlets including Conde Nast, Deadline and The Los Angeles Times.
Her passion for documentary and human-interest photography has led her around the world, exploring different cultures and searching for stories. This spring, her work will exhibit at the Newseum, as a part of a four-year-long exhibit.
